Dear Birthparent(s):

WE are so excited about the thought of becoming parents.  It is a dream come true.  We have wanted this for so long.  Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

First let us say, that we do not want to pretend to know what you are going though at this moment.  It is probably the hardest decision you will ever make.  We do know that your decision is out of love.

Please feel confident that we would do our best to be the most loving, understanding, loyal parents that we can be.

We think open adoption is a wonderful thing. We want him/her to know you.  This isn’t the end, but rather the beginning of a new chapter in all of our lives.  We will be adoptive parents and you will always be the birthparent(s).  Our child will know you and you can be assured that your child is safe, cared for, and is loved more then he/she could ever know.

About us…

Let us introduce ourselves, we are Vince and Sharyn.  We have been together for five years and married for three of those years.  We met and one year later we were engaged.  We were married in 2006.  It took a lot of frogs but I, Sharyn finally found my prince.

We live in a single home in Bucks County with a huge, fenced in yard.  There is plenty of room for playing.  Our school district is one of the best in the county.

Sharyn is 37 years old and grew up in the Wissinoming area of Philadelphia.  It was a great place to grow up.  Everyone knew each other and took care of each other.  Sharyn is the youngest of three siblings.  She has an older brother of four years named Steve and a sister who is three years older, named Denise.  Both siblings are married with children.  Sharyn and her sister lives 7 minutes away.  Sharyn’s brother’s family along with Sharyn’s parents moved up to the Reading, PA area about 5 years ago.  Sharyn’s parents have been married for over 42 years.  Her father is finally retired and her mother is actively a registered nurse at a retirement home.  Between the siblings they have 6 children; three nieces and three nephews.

Vince is 35 years old, also grew up in North East Philadelphia.  He is number three of six siblings. His sister, Angela is the oldest and then there are four brothers, Ronnie, Mike, Mark and Matt.   He also had a wonderful childhood.  His parents are still married after 40 years of marriage.     They are very family oriented and all the kids and grandchildren still live in the Philadelphia area.  Vince has five nephews and one niece.

We have two great dogs. KO is our 7 year old boxer. Lucy is our 2 year old English bulldog.  They are our family.  We love to hang out at home or bring our doggies with us whenever possible.  They are our hearts.

Family & Friends…

We go over Sharyn’s sister’s house every Sunday for “fun” day which means great food, friends, family and games.  In the summertime they have the pool, ladder ball, the trampoline, and endless summer fun.  In the winter months it is mostly watching football and cheering on the Eagles.  They also have a shuffle board table for half time.  Sunday Funday has grown over the years because Sharyn keeps inviting more and more families over.

The kids love running around and playing with each other.

We have an annual Christmas party at our house with all our friends and families.  Sharyn’s father dresses up like Santa and gives all the kid’s toys.

We entertain a lot in the summer because we have the big back yard.  Vince’s birthday is in June, so of course every year we have a huge party to celebrate his birthday.

Where we work…

Sharyn is the office manager of a small company.  Sharyn has been with the same company for 6 years.  Sharyn is one of the lucky ones who really does love her job.  The owner treats everyone like family and realizes family is the most important thing.  She will get 8 weeks bonding time with the baby and after that still have 4 weeks vacation.  She has a very flexible schedule.  She only works 8 minutes away from home.  .  Sharyn & Denise also work together.

Vince is a HVAC Manger.  He has been working in the field for the past 15 years.  Vince is also only 15 minutes away from home if he is in the office.

Interest / Hobbies

We both work out on a regular basis.  Sharyn started really using the treadmill and learning how to run.  It isn’t as easy as you think.

We enjoy going to flea markets on the weekends.

We enjoy watching all our favorite shows together.  Lucky for us we have the same tastes such as LOST or any crime drama.

Vince is a big sports fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.  He is slowly turning Sharyn into a fan.

Sharyn likes to listen to music and sing but she isn’t the best singer.  She is also ready to dance anytime there is music playing.

Child Care…

Unfortunately, we both need to work but my oldest niece that is 21 years old is going to be our nanny.  She has an 18 month old child of her own; hopefully they can be best buds.  We also have a ton of family and friends who can not wait to babysit.

Describing Us…

Vincent describing Sharyn’s personality:

Good sense of humor, fun loving, happy, very organized, focus on good side of person/situation, family oriented, loves to laugh, very funny and very loyal.  She ALWAYS has a smile on her face.

Sharyn describing Vince’s personality:

Happy, sweet, loyal, quiet at times, hard working, patient, family oriented and the best is that I experience his love for me everyday.

There is so much more to us.  Just feel certain that we have all the love in the world to give to a child.  We can not express on paper what kind of people we really are.  Together as a couple are very fun, down to earth, loving and caring.  We both have the same family values and want the same things out of life.  We just want to be happy. Family and friends are so important to us.

Vince is the sweetest, loving, loyal person I have ever met.  Sharyn’s the happiest and most optimistic person who always sees the bright side of life.  You can not see that on paper but evident by the friends we have.

Our Commitment to you…

Be assured that we are committed to a yearly visit and sharing photos and letters.  We learned a lot about ourselves, our marriage, our families and friends during this process.  We realize that we have some really, really great people in our lives.  Plus, we know we are ready to give a child all the love in the world.  Everyone is so excited for us as the prospect of us becoming parents may be getting closer.

I hope you give us the opportunity to get to know you.  We hope you find happiness and peace of mind in your decision.

Our warmest wishes,

LEGACY OF AN ADOPTED CHILD

Once there were two women who never knew each other
One you do not remember, the other you call Mother

Two different lives shaped to make you one
One became your guiding star, the other became your sun

The first one gave you life, and the second taught you to live it
The first gave you a need for love, the second was there to give it

One gave you a nationality, the other gave you a name
One gave you a talent, the other gave you aim

One gave you emotions, the other calmed your fears
One saw your first sweet smile, the other dried you tears

One made an adoption plan, that was all that she could do
The other prayed for a child, and God led her straight to you.

Now, which of these two women, Are you the product of?
Both, my darling, Both, Just two different types of love.
