Asian New Year Celebration 2009

Gung Hay Fat Choy! and Chuc Mung Nam Moi!

Over 400 AFTH families and friends gathered on blustery cold January 10th, 2009 to celebrate the year of the ox at AFTH’s 13th annual Asian New Year Party.

Traditional Asian music filled the air, Asian food filled bellies and Asian décor canvassed the room at the Valley Forge Convention Center. Children were entertained with face painting and balloons by Freckles the Clown, the Guang Hua Chinese School performed traditional Asian dance routines, and Grace Chang did a magic show and a book signing. For the first time, AFTH invited adoptive families from all other programs, including domestic, to the Asian New Year Party to join us in celebrating different cultures. Fun was had by all!

We would like to thank all the families who attend this event; it is you that makes it special. Gung Hay Fat Choy! (Happy New Year! - Chinese) Chuc Mung Nam Moi! (Happy New Year -Vietnamese)

We hope to see everyone again next year in January to celebrate the Year of the Tiger, the date of next years party will be listed on the sidebar as soon as a location has been secured.
